This was my sketchbook over 2 vacations summer 2001! Since it’s so many pages I am breaking it up into separate posts. Here’s part 1!
While on vacation in Disneyworld, the hotel would set out printed copies of pictures out of colouring books for kids to colour during breakfast. Since I had a shiny new box of crayons with me, of course I had to take a few! Belle and her Princess- I mean, Prince, from Beauty and the Beast.
Prince: “I’m so pretty”
Belle: “He’s prettier than me!”
I started this at Animazement… did Sakura’s colouring the week after… added Tomoyo the next week… and the background the week after! The background is goofy, but oh well. I like the Tomoyo.
Ocha was done at Animazement, the rest other times… I was going to put as many other characters in the background as I could, but I got bored after four :} Ash drew a “Bahama Llama” and I drew 2 of my stupid Tiger logos on there! I drew the hearts on the other day, just to cover up empty space. Ocha loves everybody!
Most of this was done while Cath and I were in our Rinoa and Selphie costumes at Animazement. I’ve never been able to draw Selphie well. Also a Shampoo, just for the heck of it, and Misato… I want to do a full size Misato later on…
“WHAT?! WHAT?!”, “Aah help me I’m ugly!!”, “Ash’s rendition of Knives”
I drew the Miaka while waiting on Yuu Watase’s autograph. Also Milly from Trigun down at the bottom… Ash asked if she could draw Knives from Trigun in there, so I let her… hehe. Then I drew my rendition of Knives as well. And Ariel from the little mermaid…
“Yuu Watase panel Fri night, “La La”, “Whee look at me”
None of this on this page was drawn at the Yuu Watase panel! I erased whatever was there originally and drew Han and Leia while at Disneyworld. With a goofy Luke in the background saying, “Whee look at me.” My aunt Jo drew a little flower in the corner, so I added a frolicking Kero-chan to it.
A skinny little Wolfwood. And Cath drew “Mr Thumbkin” at the bottom. The first one on the right she didn’t like, so she scribbled over it and drew the one on the left. This page also had a lot of written conversation on it, most written at the Yuu Watase panel, some while on the plane.
Cath: We have not written a story in a long time
Me: That’s correct
Cath: we should do that
Me: about what? trigun
Cath: sailormoon, fushigi yuugi, xmen
Me: That sounds like that story we wrote in nashville
Plane conversation
Cath: That guy in front of you is really [here she scribbled out the word ‘pretty’] FINE. 8
Me: I’ll be the judge of that
Cath: You can see when we land
Me: Oh yeah? how about I tap him on the shoulder right now
Cath: No he is way too cute for me to do that
Me: His hair is too short
Cath: You got to see the full body
Me: PERV (cath added “kell is” in front of it)
A self portrait!! And also me as Gryffindor student, with Ash’s HP character too.
Hobbes: I-I’m a Harry Potter Mary Sue?!
Ash: Deal.
We ate at the Sci-Fi Diner Thingie at MGM, and there we saw a lot of trailers for old sci-fi movies, one of which was the Devil Girl from Mars. Ash and I exclaimed over this trailer quite a bit, mostly about how we wanted her outfit. I don’t remember how we got around to the Devil Monkey from Mars, but apparently we thought it was funny enough that I had to do an illustration of it.
Also a ChibiUsa. I dunno.
