Pink satin, Misato and Luna

I got my Misato pics uploaded!
This is now officially the oldest costume we’ve shot on the white backdrop – beating out Lum by a couple of months.

Like I said in the last post, I shot with my natural tone wig first.

And then switched to the original purple wig.
I decided to wear these black combat boots from the 90s instead of my original brown shoes. I never liked the brown shoes and thought the black ones were era appropriate LOL

I made a little breakdown of the costume just for fun:

Luna made a guest appearance:

I forgot to post this one the other day — this is my fav shot from the entire shoot:

In other news…. my experiment worked!

In my last post I talked about how I was disappointed in the bust shape of my pink bodice I’m making — mostly due to the fact I used smaller “low profile” bra cups and had cut the bust seam curve down to fit it. The bust of the bodice was totally smushed and flat and I wasn’t sure what to do.

I cut the 4 smushed front panels out of the bodice Wednesday afternoon. I recut new panels, threw them in the dye, then reassembled, using the bra cups I stole from my DCNU Wonder Woman…. and it all worked! I now have boobs!
YAY! I honestly can’t believe it worked as well as it did. Especially since I had to dye the new pieces again to match.

I also got the skirt pleated on the sides like I want. For now I’m stuck until the rest of my fabric arrives. But I think it’s pretty cute just like this…

So this weekend I’ll switch gears again, back to TFA Leia (urgh).

I let Luna sit in my office while I worked Wednesday night, and she was actually a good girl. She just laid on my sewing stool and watched me pin.

Then when I got done and shut down for the night she just got up and sauntered off, didn’t have to chase her out.

So this weekend — I’ve got one commission thing to work on a bit, and I may play with the hat I’m making. Big goal is to get the new TFA Leia panels dyed. Fingers crossed.

OH! I forgot — doodled the POTC Redhead the other day:
