Patterns Used: None

Bodice:
I ended up buying a bustier that I altered for fit, and changed the top hem of the back and added clear straps.

Dress:
I started by making the black satin collar part – added eyelets to it for the lacing. I didn’t use a pattern for the yellow chiffon dress section – I just draped, pinned and sewed. It’s two layers of yellow chiffon. I got the top section looking the way I wanted it, then left the bottom long until I could finish the waist cincher. Once I could put it all on, I had my husband cut the extra length off so I was sure it wouldn’t be too long or short.

Cincher:
The waist cincher I was pretty happy with. I made 2 versions – my first one I used a pattern. It ended up being a little too short (height wise), and I wasn’t very pleased with how it was turning out. So I scraped it and started over, this time coming up with my own pattern. I think I overcompensated a little bit on the height of it, since mine I ended up being a little too tall along the sides – oh well. I sewed the rings in place on the front and added the lacing – it’s vaguely functional but I don’t mess with it, it also laces up the back.

Wig:
The wig I bought on cosworx.com (it’s an “Angela”) and styled it – I got some tips on a few things from my hairdresser, and it was mostly just a lot of trial and error. It got a little smushed in shipping to Megacon – before Dragoncon I recurled it and fixed it up a little bit better.

Accessories:
I also bought the garter belt, the fishnets, tights, and the boots, of course. The glove I had, I just added buttons, and I made the wristband for my other arm.

History: I absolutely love how this turned out and it was really fun to wear! Although, the boots kill my feet. When I first wore it at Megacon, we’d been at Disney World the day before and the top of my feet had gotten sunburned, so walking in these the next day was torture!!
