Princess Leia
Made For the Attack of the Clones midnight show, 2002
Other Appearances: Dragon Con 2002, 2003

I wanted to wear a costume to the midnight show of Attack of the Clones in 2002. The only problems were I did not have any Star Wars costumes, and I decided this 2 days before the show.

I knew mom had her old Bride of Frankenstein costume, so I thought maybe that would work. We tried it on me, and it was too raggedy looking, plus too short. So the day before the show, mom and I ran to the fabric store and got some of the same fabric she’d used for the Bride of Frankenstein, and quickly threw together a dress.

It was basically just two pieces with neckholes cut in the top, and then holes cut for the belt to go through. The belt was my She-Ra belt. Bought some braids and pinned them around my own hair.

I had a lot of fun in this. Obviously it’s not accurate but we all start somewhere. It ended up coming in handy, fitting several of my friends as Leia or working as other characters for a few more years. I still have it! Maybe I’ll do a white backdrop shoot with it one day, haha.
