Sith Lord – Unused Concept

I’m in my final 4 “Alt Reality” Padmes – this one was based on a kinda crazy, bombastic TPM era concept.

As I drew it, it became very… intimidating. I’d been wanting to use a black/red/white colour scheme for a while, and decided to just throw it on this, and when I did, it became a bit sinister. Reminded me of Galadriel; “In place of the Dark Lord you will set up a Queen.” And from there I started thinking of it as Sith Lord Padme.

The dress itself is a mix of raw silk and velvet in tones of very dark red (appears black), burgundy red and blood red. Collar is raw silk. Headpiece is mother of pearl, with copper metal offshoots and collar. The small “horns’ on either side of the face also mother of pearl with copper tips. Sleeve velvet is embossed with symbols, edged in gold beads. Center brooch at the waistband is mother of pearl with red/orange scales. At the sides of the skirt are 6 “tentacles” – 3 on each side, which would be padded velvet tubes covered in black sequined “vines.” The white velvet panels are dotted with tiny sequins. The center silk red “tabard” has an appliqued black “starburst” design with a copper star attached at the bottom. Copper discs hang from the lowest level of the skirt. The edges of the skirt are padded and turned back to create a sort-of “petal” effect, and also show the red silk underskirt. The orange “curls” coming off the back… I have no idea. LOL It would be made of something transparent but has some body to create the shapes. Perhaps chiffon built around some sort of framework.

This is my favourite of the concept series.
