Water Gown – Unused Concept

So this was based on one of my FAV concept art pieces of Padme, I used to have it as my laptop background picture for agggggges back in like 2006-2007, somewhere around there.
I really wanted to keep the ethereal nature of this dress intact while also trying to interpret it in real world ways. I imagine it as a blue silk off-the-shoulder fitted dress, but then there is a second outer layer of an aqua tone silk organza (or, something super sheer but with some body to it), covering the bodice area and creating the “sleeves”, then, thanks to an ombre-dye making it match the underdress as it goes lower, it seems to “fade” into the skirt of the dress. Outer layer would be dotted with tiny sequins.
The “collar” piece around the upper arms would be a dyed gauze just tacked in places to create a sort of “hovering” misty effect.

And finally I love the contrast of this dreamy soft dress with the hard, gold hair-pieces and green and red lacquer jeweled segments.
One of my favs!
