Dragoncon 2023 – the general recap

Well another Dragoncon has come and gone. It was a good year and somehow I didn't come home feeling like absolute crap? LIke my feet are still sore and my little toes are still slightly numb but otherwise I don't feel as exhausted as I usually do. Anyway let's recap it all.... I can't remember if I posted our badge ribbons we were handing out? I was giving out bun ...

its the dragoncon post

Ok let's get this thing over with! Wednesday morning we were up before the sun, headed over to Ash's house to pick her up. This was absolutely the tightest packing job we've ever had... That's my purple duffel bag shoved in sideways in the front, which resulted in my (somewhat pricey) makeup remover spilling everywhere. Thankfully I keep all spillables in a bag but i had to wash everything else ...

may the odds be ever in your favor

It's an extra post this week because i'm still riding the adrenaline high of the Marriott Hunger Games this morning. I was successful and got our room through a lot of shaking and heart pounding (WHY IS "ORGANIZATION" A REQUIRED FIELD?). Only thing I'm concerned with is that I used a card I usually only use in emergencies - decided it would be the best option - and I'm worried ...

back to fake life

I started to title this "back to real life" but I realized doing something normal like going to Dragon Con is real life. Going back to the day-to-day of the last year is the fake life. So -- Dragon Con was actually pretty great. I had my reservations, as you may have noticed in the last post. But the low crowds, the people, the volunteers... everything was great. Of course ...

dragoncon 2021

I realllly was wanting to put together my dragoncon line-up for instagram the other day but I felt like it might jinx it. So instead here I am writing an extra blog post for the week because I'm having an irritating day and needed a nice distraction. Even though I kinda already went over this in a post a couple of weeks ago. It's my blog I do what I ...

Dragoncon 2019 Wrap-Up

It's my favourite post of the year! The post where I get to recap Dragoncon and post all my fav pics. So Wednesday I went into work early so I could leave early (2), which ended up not being necessary... I'd pretty much gotten everything packed Tuesday night and all I really had left was stuff like my toothbrush, medicine, etc. So I ended up just taking a nap til Ash ...

Dragoncon State of the Union: August Edition

I know I just kinda wrote out a to-do list in Monday's post but my brain is screaming in anxiety today and it helps to write lists. So I'm going ahead with my August state of the union. 1. Dr Crusher is DONE! Finished her up last week, last few details like sewing in magnets for the communicators, styling the wig. The only thing left to do is finish my tricorder, ...

Dragoncon 2019 State of the Union – July Edition

It's been about a month since I posted my Dragoncon State of the Union. I thought it was time to update since then. As a reminder: I put everything on hold for about 2 weeks while I quickly whipped up a Misato costume for Anime Blues Con this coming weekend. It was nice to take a break from stuff and work on something simple. 1. Dr Crusher: Suit is still in the ...

Dragoncon 2019 State of the Union

It's the rare second post in a week but I decided it was time to do a big ole' Dragoncon post so it's not taking up room in my next weekly post. 1. Dr Crusher! NEW and almost done! YAY! Seriously I got my lab coat material yesterday, it looked great, no need for dye, got it washed and dried and got it about halfway assembled last night. Should be able ...

dragoncon 2017

Uggggggggh I'm back at work today and feel like a zombie. Came back to a TON of stuff too so double Uggggggggh. BUT! It's time for this year's Dragon Con recap. So Chase had originally planned to be doing a scooter trip that weekend, so we were both going to be out of town - but Hurricane Harvey put a stop to his trip, so he stayed home all weekend. ...
