Dragoncon pictures I stole from other people

I'm a nasty little thief, stealing pictures from other people. I love this shot of my Peggy with the USO Girls from Kaydee: Although it makes me think my jacket is a little big? I need to adjust the belt up higher and it's already wrinkling at that lower point. Hm. Anne onstage, from Sean Peck: Two gorgeous shots of my Johanna, the first from Jimmy Burns and the second ...

Dcon 2014: Anne Boleyn

Ok, I think this is the last costume wrap-up post I need to do. Due to the crowds I only got to wear Anne once. I probably would have braved it again if I didn't already have proof that someone stepping on my skirt could rip it - Chase accidently stepped on the side of it as we were heading back to the room and pulled the skirt from the ...

Dcon 2014: Johanna costume

Well, you know, I really wasn't sure about how this was going to turn out. This was my stress costume this year that I was still slapping together at the 11th hour and had gotten to the point of, "I don't care, just finish it," you know? So I was pretty surprised I actually liked how it turned out. All that fabric DOES make me look like a marshmellow, and ...

Dcon 2014: Donna costume

It would figure; the simplest costume is the one I screw up. It really needs some tweaks before I wear it again - I was really unhappy with the way the trim was laying especially on the bustline, so I want to switch out for something not so bulky that will lay flat. It was also causing the back to hang funny. Also needs rehemmed - it was too long ...

Dcon 2014: Rogue costume

I literally only have one decent picture of this costume. The other ones we took are blown out (can't see the star) and have I have a huge hair shadow across my face. I wore this for about 2 hours friday afternoon - and had intended on wearing it again late friday or saturday night. But I couldn't convince myself to get into it again, mostly because the latex mask was ...

Dcon 2014: Marie Antoinette TARDIS costume

Well this one isn't NEW but it's updated and I'm really pleased with it! When I first did the TARDIS dress back in 2011, my plan was to create a couple of other underskirts to wear with it, so I could be different versions of the TARDIS. Well I never got around to that - mostly because I hate painting - until this year. I had planned on wearing this in ...

Dcon 2014: Peggy Carter costume

First wrap-up on one of the new costumes - Peggy ! I was super pleased with how it came out. It was relatively comfortable - outside of being insanely hot. It wasn't too bad as long as I was inside - even in the oven that is the Marriott - but outside was no bueno. I had to leave both the USO Girls/WWII group and the Marvel universe shoots early ...

Dcon 2014: Megara

I wore Megara for a couple of hours Saturday afternoon. Nothing major. It was more comfortable than half of my other costumes and I almost put it back on Sunday, but decided I didn't feel like messing with the sandals. I wish I'd had time to fix the pleats on the dress before Dragoncon but alas - I'll have to aim for fixing them for a photoshoot.

Dcon 2014: Shadowcat

Ya'll don't even KNOW how excited I was to bring Shadowcat back to Dragoncon. As I've mentioned, Shadowcat was my first superhero costume for my first Dragoncon in 2002. I've been playing around with the idea since Dragoncon 2011. But never had a good excuse to until I got to be part of a very awesome 80s X-Men group this past Saturday night! For a 13 year old costume it's held up REMARKABLY ...

Dcon 2014: Dr Forrester

I wore this both Thursday night - to take advantage of my crazy hair from Marie Antoinette - and Saturday afternoon (only for a few minutes). I've got a few more pics of Dr F coming soon from Chase. I didn't wear it terribly long on Thursday because Tom made my arm pretty sore LOL And I threw it on just for fun Sat afternoon when I got Joel, Trace ...
