Imperial Officer/Admiral Daala – Star Wars

Made for: San Diego Comic Con 2004

Background: Wanted a costume I could join the 501st with.

Journal Entries: Read more at my Imperial Officer tag

Patterns Used: Simplicity 7274

Uniform: I used the Simplicity Civil War pattern – I altered it to change the fit, since even the smallest size was way too big, and the front flap of the jacket. I also made new sleeves and a new collar. The front velcroes closed. I made the pants from a different pattern (not sure what), and I cut them off below the knee. They’re just elastic-waisted, pull-on pants.

Accessories: Both pairs of boots I wear with this I bought online. My first rank badge I made out of metal and wooden pieces – my second one was made by Tambo of the MidSouth Garrison. My belt I made out of black vinyl, and the buckle was made of metal with a greeblie I bought from ElvisTrooper in the center. My first hat I made by buying a similar hat and covering it in fabric, but it looked pretty bad, LOL. I bought a new one from Kathy of the Midwest Garrison, and it’s so great, I love it.

History: I haven’t worn this as much since I made Leia or Mara Jade, but I still have it for back-up events! Looking at it as I write this update in 2020, I’m sure it wouldn’t be accepted by the 501st today; it would be nice to remake it and update it one day, but for now… it’s fine.
