Chun-Li – Street Fighter

Made for: Katsucon 2003

Background: I thought this would be fun to do after doing Cammy in 2001.

Journal Entries: Read more at my Chun-Li tag

Patterns Used: McCalls 3008

Dress: I used a pattern for the top, altered for the sleeves and the slits up the sides. I used yellow ribbon for all the trim and appliques – I wish I’d used something else now (and different fabric, too), but ah well.

Hairbuns: For the hairbuns, I bought some online, took them apart, and used them as patterns to make my own, using white satin and yellow ribbon.

Wristbands: The wristbands I made of foam, covered in fabric, with icing tips glued on.

Accessories: My waistband was made of white stretch knit material. The boots I had bought for Ocha the year before, and while they may not be right, they’re the main reason I did this costume, so I could reuse them!

History: My wristbands have since fallen apart, but this was a fun little costume to wear. It’s since moved onto a new home since I had no plans to wear it again.
